Easy Dog Birthday Cake Recipe (Dog-Safe)
This easy dog birthday cake uses peanut butter (xylitol-free), pumpkin, egg, and whole-wheat flour, topped with a plain yogurt 'frosting.' It bakes in about 25 minutes and is safe for most dogs.
Ingredients
1 cup whole-wheat (or oat) flour, 1 tsp baking soda, 1/4 cup xylitol-free peanut butter, 1/4 cup pumpkin purée, 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce, 1 egg. Frosting: plain unsweetened yogurt or cream cheese.
Method
Mix dry, then wet, combine, pour into a small greased pan, bake at 350°F (175°C) for ~25 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool fully, then top with a thin layer of yogurt.
